ABOUT DR. CASSIE REID

Dr. Reid completed her Bachelor of Science degree (Honours, 2006) at Lakehead University in her hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario. She graduated in 2010 on the dean’s honour list with a Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo and received the David J. Kerko award for excellence in low vision care. While at the School of Optometry, Dr Reid did an undergraduate research internship studying the effect of sodium fluorescein on human corneal cells. She also completed an ocular therapeutics externship with a focus on corneal and anterior segment disease at the VisionAmerica Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

 

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Reid enjoys being active by playing hockey and exploring the beautiful scenery in and around Ottawa.  She loves to experiment in the kitchen with cooking and baking, much to her colleagues dismay, and she loves to play classical guitar.
